Done my crit today. Was pretty confident as like i said before, i had finished and polished it a week previous. So i showed it to the class, and got a good reaction. No one had any suggestions as to how to change it or make it better, so I'm happy as larry!
Looking forward to the next project.

Finished Editing
Check me out, finished editing a week before submission! George sat down with me and helped me cut it down to the critical 20 seconds, as i was convinced i couldn't do it. I then watched a more of the tutorial that i had watched previously http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nf36ZVfe2BY&list=FLSTjXb1Cmw00UUPxPDfJHUA&index=2, and learned how to add in a title sequence and ending shot.
For the intro, i knew all along i wanted to call it 'The Journey', as it literally portrays my journey to uni. So i found a nice intro style that is already on FCP X, but is fully editable, and put a nice font on it....

I remembered as well, old films from the past having the word 'fin' at the end, which literally translates to 'end', so i chucked that on the end, as i thought it was a nice touch....
I put some vignetting on some shots, as the go pro over exposes the sky, and it just looked a bit bleached, and the vignetting solved that nicely.
So now just to finalise all the other bits, make the storyboard into PDF's etc. Do the final evaluation and what not.

First day of editing
I'm not going to lie, i was a bit concerned about this bit. Andrew had said we need to use Final Cut Pro 6, but i had managed to get hold of Final Cut Pro X, and all that we had been taught in the one lesson i had on 6, did not seem to translate to X! But never the less, i sat in the classroom and loaded up and tutorial on YouTube, which seems to solve everything.
Needless to say, within a few minutes, i was finding it fairly easy, and with the help of a classmate, began to get really into it!
After a few hours i was absolutely loving it, as it was as easy to use as i had heard. The only probel i encountered, was the sheer amount of footage i had, and even when i chopped them all down to half a second or less, i was still on 25 seconds.......
So I've got some serious figuring out to do to get rid of 5 seconds, which is going to be harder than it sounds....

Day one of filming
Was pretty psyched to get filming today. Got the majority of my story boarding down, so it simply a matter of going out and trying to capture what i had drawn.
I put the GoPro on my helmet and filmed the cycle to hampden park station. On the way i inadvertantly got a few extra shots that i know would work excellently in the final cut. So when i got home i screen grabbed them, and drew them into the story board.
Here is a few sneaky shots of todays shoot.....
So just had my lunch, and i'm going to go out this afternoon with the help of a mate, and get some shots that i can't do on my own....
